Full Job Description

We are looking for amazing people to help support at our young carer forum sessions, trips, and workshops. If you are fun, outgoing, supportive, have a good sense of humour and want to help enrich the lives of young carers we would love for you to join our team.

Where you will be based

Forum session are held at the police professional development centre in Hethersett. Trips and activities are held in the school holidays in various locations.

What you will do

  • Assist session leads at groups, workshops, trips, and activities.

  • Help set up/tidy up at sessions, including preparation of lunch, making drinks and washing up.

  • Support session leads in supervising young carers and ensuring they are safe at all times.

  • Participate, support and encourage young carers to get involved in activities.

  • Offer support where needed to young carers in a group setting.

  • Work closely with staff members and be a part of a team.

  • Be able to join online sessions via Zoom and have a good internet connection.

  • Attend occasional day events run for the young carers.

  • Be willing to travel across the county to join groups/trips.

  • Ensure personal and collective respect for another person's reasonable rights to privacy - particularly over issues about and arising from their role as a young carer.

  • Work to Caring Togethers policies, procedures and codes of practice, including disciplinary, grievance procedures and safeguarding of children.


  • Your commitment
  • Forum runs 6-8 weekly on a Saturday from 10am - 3pm, ideally, we would like someone who could commit to consistently attending these sessions.

  • To attend regular supervision and meetings regarding the forum session, as required.

  • To work alongside other relevant organisations locally as required.

  • To complete online training as required for this role.
