User Interface Designer

Nextbase produces award winning Dash Cams, and we are looking for a User Interface designer to join our fast-growing team.

You will be working with our Product Designer to produce designs and prototypes for our software development teams to implement. In this role you will primarily focus on our mobile application, however it will also include aspects of GUI design on our camera itself as well as web applications used by our customers and internal teams.

The position is primarily based in Caerphilly, Wales. Travel to our Head Office in London may also be required from time to time to collaborate with our Sales and Marketing teams. The position is on a full time, permanent basis.

Responsibilities

• Design digital journeys including creating wire frames, prototypes, and user flows, with an understanding of design standards, and accessibility.


• Develop visual concepts and design solutions that align with brand guidelines and marketing objectives.


• Focusing on the visual elements of the product, including layout, colours, typography, and iconography.


• Ensuring consistency across different screens and platforms.


• Maintain and improve the in-house design system and component library.


• Ensure all designs meet minimum accessibility standards.
  
  Strong appreciation for User Interface (UI) design, specialising in visual design.


• Portfolio that demonstrates best work in visual or UI design, and design systems, with appropriate usage of illustration and animation.


• Ability to create and own design systems, Design tokens knowledge is a plus.


• Skills in typography, layout, colours, iconography, and grids.


• Strong experience in Figma


Beneficial Skills

· Experience with ProtoPie and/or Adobe Creative Suite.

· Experience in Visual & UI design for digital products.

· Deep understanding of UX and Psychology, Design patterns and Research methodologies.

· Knowledge of Jira and Confluence, for documentation and task management.,
