Full Job Description

As the UI/UX Developer, you will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Work closely with researchers to understand their project objectives, data, and visualization needs.

  • Design and develop visually engaging and informative representations of research data and findings, using various visualization techniques and tools.

  • Create wireframes, mock-ups, and interactive prototypes to effectively communicate design ideas and concepts.

  • Collaborate with researchers and other team members to iterate on designs, incorporating feedback to improve the overall user experience and visual appeal.

  • Implement responsive and accessible user interfaces using modern web development technologies.

  • Optimize visualizations for performance, ensuring they load quickly and run smoothly on various devices and platforms.

During the interview process you'll be able to demonstrate your ability of UI/UX design and front-end development and will show an understanding of writing code in a production environment. Additionally, it's likely that you'll have:

  • A strong portfolio showcasing your design and development skills in creating engaging and informative visualizations,

  • Prior experience and can demonstrate previous experience on projects encompassing research visualization or data visualization,

  • Proficiency in modern web development technologies, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript and related frameworks and libraries (e.g., React, D3.js)

  • Experience with design tools, such as Figma,

  • A keen eye for detail and a passion for creating visually engaging and informative experiences

    Darktrace is seeking a talented and creative UI/UX Developer with a strong background in research visualization to join our team. As a UI/UX Developer, you will collaborate with our researchers, working on AI and HPC projects, to create visually stunning and informative representations of their work. This role requires both a deep understanding of user experience design principles and the technical skills to bring these designs to life.

    This is a hybrid role, and the expectation would be to work a minimum of 2 days a week in the Cambridge office.
