Full Job Description

UHNM have a requirement for a Telephony Engineer to join our newely established Network Services Team. The role will support the Senior Telephony Engineers in the successful delivery of the internal Telephony services. The aim of this role is to provide technical Telephony support for the systems and services used by the UHNM, as well as partners of the Trust, resolving incidents passed from 1st line support in order to maintain 'business as usual'. Where appropriate, involvement in project implementation will also be required. Telephony Engineers work as part of the team providing support to Principal Network and Telephony Engineer and the Senior Telephony Engineers in delivering the Telephony network services across the whole of the Trust to ensure the provision of an efficient and reliable 24 hour, 365 day service.,

  • To provide specialist support in the operational management, implementation, maintenance of data communication networks and projects assisting in the provision of continuous and acceptable service to all end users, including management and on-site supervision of approved third party service providers and contractors as well as support of the Network Engineers.

  • The post holder is accountable to the Head of Network Infrastructure under the management of the Principal Network Engineers as team leader and works closely with other managers and staff within UHNM.

  • To contribute to the production of reports and presentations as appropriate within the UHNM and Partner Organisations.

  • To carry out the installation and commissioning of network equipment involving some complex work with tools, some lifting of heavy equipment and requiring significant keyboard skills to ensure accuracy when programming this. Occasionally this will involve working in dirty and difficult areas.

  • The post holder will be required to contribute to the development and implementation of Key Performance Indicators and Critical Success Factors within the Directorate
