Full Job Description

We're seeking an individual who embodies innovation, collaboration, and a passion for pushing the boundaries of game development. As a Technical Artist specialising in Procedural Tools, you'll work closely with our Art teams to develop and maintain a suite of tools that automate tasks, enhance workflows, and unlock new creative possibilities. You'll collaborate with our Technical Art and Core Tech teams to drive technological advancements, improve efficiency, and uphold our high standards of artistic quality.

  • Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain a suite of tools that empower our art teams to create ground-breaking visuals in record-breaking time.

  • Create and maintain specific materials, where required by the tools, under the guidance of the Technical Art Director.

  • Create and maintain blueprints where required to integrate the tools into our content pipeline.

  • Create benchmark art assets to demonstrate technical set-up.

  • Work with the Technical Art and Core Tech Teams to develop new technology, improve workflows, and resolve technical issues as required.

  • Work with the Technical Art and Core Tech Teams to manage, organise and optimise the art data.

  • Assist the Art Team with technical issues and help define and enforce best practice.

  • Prepare for and attend daily scrums; provide updates

  • Use associated Project Management systems/Kbox and participate in meetings as defined by Managers, Project Managers and/or Producers to keep the broader team up to date with progress

  • From time to time be required to do tasks outside of immediate remit (such tasks will usually be closely aligned with the employee's skillset or knowledge database)

  • Documenting and presenting processes, techniques, knowledge or guidelines based on the production of work.

    Proficiency in using Houdini and Houdini Engine for constructing procedural geometry.

  • Strong understanding of art, lighting, and material pipelines.

  • Familiarity with 3ds Max and other art authoring tools.

  • Methodical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Openness to feedback and guidance from team members.

  • Eagerness to learn, grow, and help others succeed.

  • Adaptability and versatility to thrive in a dynamic environment.

  • Ability to work efficiently under deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
