Full Job Description

Permanent, part time (approx. 66% FTE)

We are looking to appoint a well-qualified, innovative and enthusiastic part-time Teacher of Biology (approx. 66% FTE over 4 days). The successful candidate will have experience of teaching Biology across Key Stages 3, 4 & 5 and the ability to teach a second science up to and including GCSE.

The Science Department consists of 6 science teachers all specialists in their own field. The department is housed in an extremely well equipped and modern suite of science labs and is supported by two experienced lab technicians who are an integral part of the team.

All students study at least the double science award with approximately a quarter of students opting to study triple science.

We have students studying all three sciences at A level and many of these go on to top universities to further their scientific interests. Science is also a popular choice for our EPQ and HPQ students.

Science clinics, Science Week and a number of science trips ensure that science enjoys a high profile across the school and there will be plenty of opportunities to help enhance this reputation.

The role may be suitable for an ECT.
