Full Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a Supervisor to join the Safety group at UTAC Millbrook. The successful role holder will be responsible for the first-hand delivery of crash tests with the support of the technician team, coordinating resource as required to meet the testing schedule.

The supervisor is required to adapt the daily plain and work allocation to provide safe and efficient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • First-hand operational delivery of crash tests to schedule.

  • Supervising a team of technicians, including resource planning, approval of working hours and holiday requests.

  • Liaise with engineers and customers on a technical level.

  • Prepare risk assessments, organise workplace inspections and report on health and safety matters.

  • Ordering and maintaining minimum consumable item stock levels.

  • Point of contact for customer and supplier deliveries and collections.

  • Complete other tasks applicable to role including participation in improvement projects.

  • Act in accordance with the behaviors for UTAC staff at all times

    Level 3 NVQ Mechanical or Vehicle Engineering or equverlent expirence

  • ISOHH - beneficial, Experienced in a test laboratory or vehicle workshop setting - Essential

  • Previously held a Technician / Senior Technician role - Essential

  • Experience with high-speed camera systems and / or data acquisition systems would be advantageous

  • Full UK driving licence & own transport (UTAC Millbrook is not easily assessable via public transport)

  • SC clearance or ability to achieve this (UK national with residency in the UK for the last 5 years)

  • Willing to undergo a Criminal Disclosure check
