An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Social Worker within the Youth Justice Service, Child and Family Services, Swansea.

We have a very clear vision in Swansea which is well understood by the current workforce, that wherever safe children should remain in the care of their birth families. Signs of Safety is our practice framework and we have used the reclaiming Social Work model to form small pods led by a Practice Lead. This supports good supervision and collaboration between staff. Building positive respectful relationships with families, listening to children and ensuring they are involved in decisions that affect their lives is at the heart of what we do.

This advert is for a permanent Social Worker within Swansea Youth Justice Service.

The Youth Justice Service work with children and young people (aged between10-18) to prevent offending and re-offending. The team is responsible for the assessment and supervision of all children and young people subject to Statutory Court Orders both within the community and the custodial environment. The team also support young people who are on the periphery of offending behaviour or anti-social behaviour with the aim of diverting them away from the Criminal Justice System.
