Full Job Description

  • Supporting business strategy and execution

  • Support development of a value proposition in line with overall Strategic Advisory strategy offering and fostering a culture of learning and excellence.

  • Accountable for leading or supporting our response to market intelligence, from which a more focused capability growth strategy can be developed and implemented.

  • Collaborate to connect propositions from across all Strategic Advisory Chapters, and Mott MacDonald more broadly, focusing on infrastructure asset owner challenges in the first instance.

  • Work with Asset & Climate ESG Lead to lead bids and bid teams

  • Work within our assurance framework to structure delivery team and deliver great work to our clients

  • Work with Asset Climate & ESG Lead to support and lead our external engagement and market positioning initiatives

  • Represent Strategic Advisory at key industry events in line with capability growth plan

  • Support awards submissions (especially with Clients) and foster culture of excellence


  • WIN - Business development and growth


  • Have a key role in supporting the creation of a credible short/ medium- and long-term pipeline of work that align with our key

  • client and sector focus and our value proposition

  • Continue to build and own relationship with the corresponding Advisory leadership, focusing on UK, European and Global business and in line with the relevant practice plans

  • Nurture direct client relationships, spotting opportunities to drive further high-value work

  • Support Asset Climate & ESG Lead as required and role model behaviours that help us create a clear and viable pipeline

  • Develop strong internal networks and support opportunity growth via other teams

    Knowledge of circular economy principles is preferred, but not essential, Excellent and demonstrable consultancy skills, including management consultancy, asset management, programme management or equivalent, ideally supported by qualifications and/or accreditations

  • Significant knowledge of climate change and ESG, with preferable experience developing and executing climate change or ESG strategies for clients at the c-suite, overseeing its implementation across an organisation

  • Considerable experience in at least one Infrastructure sector i.e. Transportation, Energy, Water or Built Environment

  • A proven track record in stakeholder engagement and management, bringing together diverse teams or organisations to drive purpose led outcomes

  • Expertise and knowledge of major programme functions, business acumen and how people, performance and projects come together

  • Demonstrable experience of business development and client relationship management in a consultancy setting, with an ability to win new work that builds a strong pipeline

  • Commercial acumen in directing consulting commissions

  • Strong communication skills, polished creative/technical writing and a confident presenter

  • Emerging track record in pushing the boundaries that is evolutionary in consultancy, i.e. bring progressive approaches, thinking and ways of working

  • Customer centric perspective focusing on outcomes and whole-life value

  • Ability or emerging ability to influence stakeholders at all levels including the executive team
