Full Job Description

Working within AXA Global Healthcare's SME Sales team, our Senior Business Development Manager builds relationships and develops new business opportunities, supporting the AGH portfolio. You'll have shared global responsibility for management of SME and Individual Intermediary sales channels, and understand the importance of the Individual and SME Market.

What you'll be doing:

  • Seek out and close new business opportunities within the intermediary channel for SME and Individual business lines

  • Support the existing AGH Individual and SME portfolio and ensure growth in the Intermediary market

  • Responsible for the development of intermediary relationships and increase their knowledge of the AGH proposition

  • Work closely with the AGH Account Management team to ensure all existing AGH business renews on an annual basis

  • Work with local AGH partners, local AXA entities and colleagues in AGH UK/AGH EU to develop multi-tier relationships

  • Accountable for management of PPA /Tenders for AGH, including pitches and presentations to secure portfolio growth

  • Identify key areas of focus for intermediaries to develop their business by utilising marketing opportunities, by supporting training needs and facilitating joint hospitality events

  • Assist in new product development based on intermediary and client feedback regarding all aspects of the Individual international health market

    Proven business development experience with a track record of consistently achieving targets

  • Excellent understanding of the market and our competitors, able to establish and identify opportunities

  • Strong relationship and account management experience - ability to maintain, develop and grow existing relationships in a professional manner

  • In depth knowledge of the international health market, particularly the Intermediated market

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively in a standalone role

  • Customer centric - maintain a customer focused approach at all times

  • Ability to work collaboratively across global AXA businesses and regions; confident at negotiating and strongly influencing at all levels in a complex matrix organisation

  • Ability to create and deliver presentations to all levels

  • Ability to travel internationally and across the UK as and when required


  • As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.

    This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
