Full Job Description

The School has adopted the principles of Safer Recruitment and will safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to do the same. Successful applicants will be required to undertake an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check and subscribe to the DBS update service. Carlton Academy Trust is an equal opportunities employer.

We are looking for an inspirational teacher who is passionate about Inclusion and SEND. Candidates must hold QTS and have experience of teaching students with a SEND and must have or be training towards the NASEN accredited SENDCo post graduate qualification. This is a really exciting and unique opportunity to promote SEND. The successful candidate will play a vital role in transforming and shaping SEND practice. This role also includes a teaching commitment.

Carlton Mills is a larger than average primary school consisting of around 330 students based close to the centre of Bradford. Carlton Mills is an Ofsted 2023 rated Good primary school with an Outstanding Early Years Foundation Stage. We are also officially a World Class School working with experts from Carlton Academy Trust.

The school is an integral part of a diverse and very supportive local community, with parents/carers regularly welcomed into school to be part of their child's learning journey. The Trust has recently introduced a new inspirational curriculum following the 'Real People, Real Places, Real Learning' agenda to bring learning and new opportunities to life. We also seek to create links to the local community/businesses to enhance and develop our broad and balanced curriculum, ensuring that our students have the highest aspirations within and beyond the communities in which they live.
