Safety & Compliance Manager

We are currently recruiting for an exciting new role! As we growing bigger we are now looking for a Safety & Compliance Manager to join our Estates Team., Join YMCA North Tyneside and its subsidiaries as a Safety & Compliance Manager, where you'll play a crucial role in creating and maintaining safe and healthy work environments.

As the Safety & Compliance Manager, you'll develop, implement, and oversee health and safety policies and procedures across all areas of operation. Your responsibilities will include conducting risk assessments, providing training, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of safety awareness. If you're passionate about promoting workplace safety and you value making a positive impact on the standards of accommodation in social housing, this role is perfect for you., All interviews will be fully compliant with Government guidance relating to social distancing. Upon starting a new role with us, we will ensure you are equipped with the tools and technologies which will enable you to do your best work remotely when required. Our longer-term focus remains on a culture of flexibility and encouraging colleagues to maintain a healthy work-life balance through flexible working arrangements.

• NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent accreditation.


• Relevant degree level qualification in health and safety management, occupational safety, building surveying, or related field (or proven relevant experience - see below).


Experience:

• Experience in a health and safety management role, preferably within a multi-site organisation.


• Demonstrated understanding of health and safety legislation, regulations, and best practices.


• Experience in conducting risk assessments, developing policies, and delivering training programs., Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.


• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.


• Analytical mindset with the ability to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement appropriate control measures., A proactive, solution-focused and 'can do' approach to health and safety management - helping us to make things work safely.


• Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently and make decisions autonomously.


• Commitment to promoting a positive safety culture and driving continuous improvement initiatives.


• Flexible and adaptable to meet the changing needs of the organisation and respond to emergencies effectively.
