Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen due to service expansion for 1 Reproductive Technologist to join our laboratory team at Cambridge IVF (Ipswich site). This state of the art NHS fertility centre offers a comprehensive range of diagnostic and clinical treatment services and encompasses the regional diagnostic andrology service for Cambridgeshire and the surrounding area, with capacity for up to 7000 semen analyses per annum.

Applicants should possess a First or Second Class Biological Sciences degree. A relevant postgraduate qualification and laboratory experience are highly desirable but full training will be provided to all successful candidates. The post holder will have the opportunity to work across our Diagnostic Andrology Laboratories to a UKAS accredited standard in accordance with the requirements of ISO15189:2012 and in accordance with the HFEA Code of Practice for fertility centres.

The position will require some weekend, bank-holiday and out of hours work on a rotational basis.

A committed member of a dedicated team of laboratory scientists and technicians. Working to the highest standards of clinical excellence to contribute to a patient focused Fertility Service. You will be responsible for performing diagnostic laboratory procedures primarily in the diagnostic andrology laboratory.

Subject to appropriate competence, there may be scope for further training in Clinical Andrology, including the opportunity to apply for an In-Service Trainee (IST) post on the National Scientific Training Programme (STP) in Andrology.

You will be expected to deal with members of the public in a polite and compassionate manner and to work with precision, accuracy and transparency in everything they do.
