Full Job Description

Due to continued growth Cannon Access are looking for a Pre Delivery Inspection (PDI) Support Technician to join us at our workshop near Maldon.

We run a fleet of over 130 access platforms ranging from 3.5m up to 26m whilst also offering service work and training to customers and end users.

The Pre Delivery Inspection (PDI) Support Technician duties are to perform inspections of the machinery before and after they are delivered to our customers, this will include pressure washing and cleaning down the machines, doing any minor repairs and replacing missing parts/decals where necessary.

The Pre Delivery Inspection (PDI) Support Technician is responsible for the daily routine PDI tasks given by the Service Co-Ordinator. General maintenance of the work area, ensuring it is tidy and clean and any other tasks allocated to ensure safe and efficient running of the working areas and machines.

Main tasks / responsibilities:

  • Carry out pre-delivery and off- hire inspections on all machines using an IT based process on a company issued PDA

  • Carry out machine services, minor repairs and manufacturer updates to our own fleet and customers machines

  • Washing down machines and replacing decals to maintain the image of our fleet and to ensure they are delivered according to our high quality standards

  • Give assistance with loading/unloading trucks, preparing machines for transport and other yard duties

  • Communicate effectively with the engineering team and hire office to make sure that we maintain maximum machine availability

  • Inform appropriate persons of any defective or unsafe equipment.

  • Occasionally deliver machinery to site using our pickup truck and trailer.

  • Occasionally operate machinery on site (Full training and PPE provided)

    A keen interest in mechanical/technical engineering

  • Eager to learn with an ability and willingness to undergo in-house training

  • Computer literate with good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work under own initiative or as part of a team

  • You must be able to prioritise tasks in an ever changing demanding hire environment

  • Willingness to perform other duties as assigned.
