Mid -Level PHP Developer

Who are you?
You will play a key part in the development & maintenance of existing systems and applications along with general day to day technical operations & support. The role requires someone with a solid foundation in developing web applications and websites along with the ability to manage and develop new/existing projects.

You will have the ability to switch between backend/frontend development with ease and also be able to develop features quickly. Solutions-driven and with an eye for detail, you will be a natural self-starter with a genuine passion for writing code.

Your day to day activities will include:

• Web Application development - Full Stack


• API development & integrations


• General ad hoc technical support


• Developing new features for existing systems


• Maintaining, modifying and improving existing projects


• Ideas generation and project scoping


• Technical design and documentation


• Liaison with stakeholders to meet the business' technical requirements
  
  Minimum of 1.5 to 2 years practical & demonstrable experience


• PHP development & a solid understanding of MVC frameworks


• Solid understanding of MySQL including database design & management


• Experience with using Elasticsearch


• Strong experience with HTML, CSS and JavaScript


• Good experience using JavaScript frameworks


• Version Control using Git


• Ability to navigate Linux servers for general operations


Practical experience of all or most of the following will be required:

• PHP frameworks - Laravel & CakePHP


• JavaScript frameworks, preferably VueJS


• CSS frameworks such as Tailwind/SASS


• API development & integrations


• Docker


You should enjoy a varied workload and not mind being a bit of an 'all-rounder' with a proactive approach to developing the best solutions. You should also be flexible in order to work and liaise with some of our international offices where required. In addition to this, you will need to have excellent communication skills, be collaborative and naturally super organised.,

  Caters Media Group is a content agency, one of the largest of their kind, creating, and licensing content to media outlets, commercial brands, and brand agencies worldwide and publishing across their flagship owned and operated brands on global platforms.
  
  The role is based at our Birmingham HQ, with potential for some home working. However, if needed you must be prepared to work in the office five days a week.
