Full Job Description

A vacancy for a Medical Laboratory Assistant position has arisen in a very busy Microbiology Laboratory based the Royal Gwent Hospital, with additional services on The Grange University Hospital, Cwmbran and Nevill Hall Hospital, Abergavenny. The Department processes a wide variety of clinical samples using both manual and automated methodology.

The hours of work will be Monday to Friday 14:00 to 22:00 (37.5 hour per week)., The job will comprise of many varied tasks - including reception duties, registration of request forms onto the laboratory IT LIMS system and preparing samples for processing.

The successful applicant will need to be organised, methodical, have good computer skills and attention to detail, and be able to work in a team.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
