Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, self-motivated Junior Mechanic to join our dynamic team, assisting the Engineers around you in their maintenance activities whilst also enhancing your own experience of aircraft maintenance.

The Role:

Using a prescribed Mechanic logbook (CAV/TT/F033), you will quickly gain real time experience of basic maintenance tasks, whilst also being exposed to more complex tasks that will enhance your capabilities and skills.

With a good level of foundation training gained prior to employment, you will be able to use your theoretical knowledge and align it with 'hands on' experience to enable you to become an experienced aviation mechanic.

Putting safety and quality first, you will ensure adherence to Health & Safety procedures whilst carrying out aircraft maintenance within the limits of company approvals. Whilst upholding the highest level of engineering standards and practices, you will assist in driving the team to deliver defect rectification and investigation, repair, overhaul and modifications.

Main Responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out maintenance of aircraft as defined, giving due consideration to Human Factors philosophy, using only correctly maintained and uniquely identified personal tooling and correct company tooling and calibrated test equipment

  • Under the direction of your supervisor, provide effective support of the aircraft maintenance and seek support if needed

  • Ensuring correct completion of all maintenance paperwork and forms in a timely manner before the end of the shift and in accordance with all aspects of the MOE Part 2 and procedures

  • Informing the Bay Manager / Engineer / Technician of any adverse issues affecting safety, productivity, and progression of work

    Must be eligible to live and work in the UK

  • Hands on experience in an aircraft environment, be that Part 145, Part 21 or training college / university.

  • Ability to use recognised aircraft documentation

  • Have personal tools (a list can be supplied)

  • Ability to demonstrate basic knowledge of aircraft systems and safety factors in the workplace

  • Apprenticeship (or equivalent) in aviation or mechanical engineering, or an Aeronautical degree

  • Minimum of 5 GCSE's (or equivalent) at grade C or above including Maths and English Language
