Full Job Description

The successful candidate will look at the day-to-day ownership and responsibility for scheduling material deliveries on a 'Just in Time Basis' (J.I.T). Ensuring materials are in place to satisfy production requirements whilst optimising stock levels and cost. Daily administrative tasks would also need to be completed., As a Material Scheduler and Administrator you will be expected to undertake the following:

  • Extract information from Company Drawings and Specifications and transpose them into Purchase Orders (PO's).

  • Schedule materials to meet the needs of the Production Plan.

  • Monitor progress (and adjust as necessary) against the schedule via frequent contact with Production.

  • Responsible for processing supplier PO's and returns.

  • Communicate/liaise with other departments and suppliers to ensure demands of Production are met.

  • Liaise with Stores or relevant individuals to manage materials.

  • Act as the initial point of reference for the Production Foreman and Team Leaders.

  • Be available for all Stock Checks.

  • Communicate with suppliers.

  • Input data into SAGE (Training will be provided)

  • Updating Excel Spreadsheets.

  • Booking goods in.

  • Progress chasing

    Ability to work under pressure, with strict timescales, abnormal situations and have the ability to think "outside the box".

  • Excellent communication, organisational and planning skills.

  • Competent PC skills.

  • Working knowledge of Sage Line 200 desirable.

  • Capacity to manage and co-ordinate multiple tasks and priorities.

  • Excellent telephone manner.

  • Good time keeping is expected at all times, and strong numeracy skills will be advantageous.

  • You will need to be able to work on your own and as part of a team.
