Full Job Description
Helen Rollason Cancer Charity is a community-based charity seeking to support those living with or impacted by a cancer diagnosis. We are currently looking for an experienced Management Accountant, preferably with charity experience, to join our busy finance team 1 day a week. They will be providing appropriate financial support by preparing financial forecasts and analysing the charity's financial performance, to ensure the charity can continue providing services for years to come., · Responsible for maintaining the Charity's financial records including:
o processing transactions;
o preparing and maintaining the accounting records;
o preparation of monthly management accounts for the Management Team and Trustees;
o preparation of annual accounts for independent review by the Charity's accountant;
o preparing annual budget;
o monitoring and managing bank accounts;
o ensure accurate management of restricted funds;
o contributing to funding applications;
o prepare quarterly VAT returns and Gift Aid claims.
· Prepare the annual audit file, liaising with auditors/accountant and overseeing the implementation of audit recommendations and reporting to COO/Trustees.
· Preparing monthly payroll and working with Payroll Bureau to manage all queries.
· Monitor Charity Commission, Companies House and HMRC records and submissions.
· Ensuring financial control systems and procedures are followed in accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and staff expenses and banking functions.
· Contribute to Board Risk Register as required.
· Recognised accountancy qualification.
· numeracy, verbal, and written communication.
· Experience of using an accounting software package. (Desirable - Sage 50 Professional Accounts)
· Good IT skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel and internet.

· Excellent communication skills - inc ability to work with team members that may not have a financial background.
