Full Job Description
- Be able to work alone or as part of a team to strict standard operating procedures (in accordance with international standards, including ISO17025 and ISO17020)
- Assist in maintaining fully stocked, DNA clean, laboratories which includes participating in lab cleaning and the environmental monitoring procedure
- Maintain and manage a compliant suppliers list. In addition, ensure purchased stock levels of required consumables are at an optimal level and quality within the site
- Ensure that records (emails, phone calls and all data entries) are clear, concise and accurate as per the required protocol for the task
- Calibration of pipettes, balances and thermometers
- Document temperature control checks, expiry dates, QA passed materials and stock goods received as required
- Preparation of reagents in accordance with strict expiry dates
- Ability to take on a high level of responsibility
- Highly motivated individual, who approaches work with a positive attitude
- Will be able to work on their own initiative within a documented framework of instruction
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Must be able to work to deadlines
- Ability to produce all work to the highest standard
- Educated to A-level, including a Science subject
Ensure that equipment is serviced, calibrated and their records are stored / updated according to QMS guidelines
Well-developed interpersonal skills will be essential
Qualifications & Experience
Laboratory practical experience, employment or university-based, desirable.
