IT Technical Consultant

About you: We invite applications from candidates with proven commercial experience supporting a growing SME client base supporting clients with 10 to 1000's users across multiple sites.

The successful candidate will join a growing, pro-active and highly motivated team responsible for installations and maintenance of network infrastructures, cloud technologies, workstations, servers, data security, daily administration tasks, regular site consultancy pro-active support visits and end user support.

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in:

• Network and server installations / migrations


• Administration and managing shared cloud storage solutions such as SharePoint and OneDrive.


We place particular emphasis on excellent customer service skills and being able to provide a secure, high-performance, reliable service to sophisticated and demanding users. The role will require travel to customer locations with possible overtime opportunities.

You will join a growing and well-established UK wide MSP with ISO27001, ISO9001, Microsoft Partner, VMware Professional and Microsoft CSP accreditations held within the group. We are a technically lead professional organisation focused on high quality end user delivery.

Core Requirements:

• At least 3 years' experience within an engineering / consultancy role


• Excellent communication skills are essential with accurate and clear reporting to end users and management - email, telephone and face to face


• Desire to learn new products and technologies


• Great customer service skills with can-do attitude


• Logical approach to troubleshooting


• Microsoft Windows Server 2012 to 2022 including administration and migration


• Active Directory Configuration and Administration (including DHCP / DNS /TCPIP / GPO


• Office 365 & SharePoint including administration and migrations


• Virtualisation Technology Experience including Hyper-V and VMware


• Firewall Technologies and Configuration (SonicWALL)


• 2nd Factor Authentication solutions including Microsoft MFA


• Troubleshooting and diagnostic experience via logs and reports


• Microsoft Office Applications 2010 to O365


• Backup technologies and troubleshooting


Experience is beneficial for the following technologies:

• Azure - including IaaS & PaaS


• Understanding of Microsoft SQL Server


• Microsoft Security inc. Microsoft Intune, Conditional Access, Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Office365, Encryption


• VPN Technologies (branch office and user), GCSE or equivalent (preferred), Technical support: 1 year (preferred)


• Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
