Full Job Description

To support the IT team with managing all end user devices, triage of faults and undertaking new starter builds. You will support with hardware audits and act as a first point of contact for all IT related queries. You will provide ad-hoc business support where required and provide 1st line support to end users in-house and on a remote basis.,

  • To manage all end user devices (laptops / phones / ancillaries) - co-ordinating the deployment

  • Configure end devices in line with IT department processes

  • Maintain IT stock records and a clean and organized stock area. Reporting to the IT team if additional items are required for purchasing.

  • Perform hardware audits with internal staff and external contractors to ensure accurate records.

  • Take IT support requests as the 1st line and try to resolve issues. Recording them on the Service desk system. Escalating tickets to other IT supports staff when required

  • Managing tickets and own workload

  • Providing support for users in office applications

  • Once trained, providing support for users on line of business applications

  • Updating Active Directory details for staff

  • Access administration to third party applications as part of user support


  • Future Prospects

    2nd/3rd Line Support Engineer would be the internal progression route. Externally, a number of different follow-on roles would be suitable, leading to an established IT career.

    Qualities and skills required

    Experience in the water utility sector
    ITIL qualification and / or demonstrable experience of working to ITIL principles
    Full driving licence
    Essential Criteria:
    - Competent MS Office use
    - Must possess an interest in IT

    Working week: 37 Hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30am-4.30pm.
