Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust (NMPAT) seeks to appoint a first rate vocal educator, animateur, and practitioner to join the Leadership Team of the Trust alongside existing Heads of Brass, Guitar, Keyboard, Orchestral Strings, Percussion and Woodwind, to lead the teaching team of the Trust. Working with the Directors responsible for School Based teaching, County Ensembles and Saturday Centres, they will deploy their staff to deliver the promises of the National Plan for Music Education., The successful candidate will work alongside the existing Heads of Brass, Guitar, Keyboard, Orchestral Strings, Percussion and Woodwind, to lead the teaching team of the Trust. Working with the Directors responsible for School Based teaching, County Ensembles and Saturday Centres, they will deploy their staff to deliver the promises of the National Plan for Music Education.

You will be a first class practitioner with a wide experience of vocal styles and pedagogy, an enthusiastic animateur of vocal and choral work, an inspirational leader of a teaching team, and a visionary educationalist. The role includes responsibilities for managing teaching strategies and the teaching team, delivering vocal projects and teaching, and the opportunity to work with one of the Trust's vocal ensembles.

NMPAT is a music education charity, which provides musical and artistic opportunities for the children and young people, as the current lead organisation of the Northamptonshire and Rutland Music Education Hub. As lead partner of the Hub, the charity works with almost every school in the two counties. We engage with over 50,000 young people per year, run more than 30 County Ensembles - choirs, orchestras and bands - 10 Saturday Centres, and further enrichment, and performance opportunities throughout the year. We employ over 250 staff, including a central support team, permanently based at the Kettering Road Music and Arts Centre in Northampton.

The appointment is within the spirit of Teachers' Conditions and is paid on the NMPAT Pay Spine depending on qualifications and experience: Up to £40,048, or up to £44,376 for qualified teachers (pending confirmation of pay award).
