Full Job Description

  • Asa Graphic Designer for St Anns Hospice, you will play a crucial role increating visually compelling and emotionally resonant materials that supportthe organisation's mission and enhance its communication efforts.

  • Youwill collaborate with various teams within the organisation to create a strongvisual identity and ensure that all design materials align with the hospice'sbrand guidelines.

  • Aspart of the Marketing and Communications team, the role will help us deliverkey communications in a creative, clear and effective way.

  • Youwill work on new creative design and develop marketing and communicationsproducts such as campaigns, social media assets, website resources, promotionalmaterials, event branding, along with other creative projects.

  • Youwill act as brand ambassador working with colleagues and third parties toensure our brand guidelines are adhered to.

  • Youwould be joining the team at an exciting time for the hospice as we build ournew purpose built hospice at Heald Green., TheGraphic Designer will


  • Brand Development and Maintenance
  • Developand maintain the hospice's visual identity, ensuring consistency across allmaterials.

  • Collaboratewith marketing and communications colleagues to understand brand guidelines andincorporate them into design projects.


  • Print and Digital Design
  • Createvisually appealing print materials, including reports, flyers, posters, andbanners.

  • Designengaging digital content for online platforms, including social media graphics,website elements, and email campaigns.


  • Illustration andInfographics
  • Developillustrations and infographics to convey complex information in a clear andaccessible manner.

  • Workclosely with content creators to visually represent hospice services, values,and educational resources.


  • Event Collateral
  • Designmaterials for hospice events, including invitations, programs, and signage.

  • Collaboratewith event planning teams to ensure all design elements align with the event'stheme and purpose.


  • Photography and ImageEditing
  • Selectand edit images for projects that highlight the work to the best effect.

  • Workwith photographers to capture authentic and meaningful visuals for marketingand promotional materials.

  • Takingphotographs as required to capture events and stories at St Anns Hospice.


  • Collaborationand Communication
  • Collaboratewith cross-functional teams, including marketing and communications colleagues,fundraising, and healthcare professionals.

  • Communicate design concepts effectively and incorporate feedback torefine designs.


  • Compliance

    Ensurethat all design materials adhere to industry regulations and compliancestandards in the healthcare and charity sectors.

    Stay Current with DesignTrends

    Keep abreast of design trends and continuously seek opportunities toenhance the visual impact of the hospice's communication materials.

    Project Management
  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlinesare met and stakeholders are informed of progress.

  • Co-ordinate external suppliers such as printers to meet deadlinesand budgets.

    Essential

    Hold a degree in Graphic Design or equivalent level of experience

  • Be highly organised with an exceptional eye for detail and passion for current and future design trends.

  • Have extensive experience of working in the creative industry as a graphic designer.

  • Be able to present a diverse portfolio of varied graphic design work that can demonstrate a range of examples of creative and eye-catching design.

  • Be highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite products, specifically, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.

  • Have advanced print knowledge and experience working with different print mediums, formats and specifications for a range of briefs, to a budget and deadline.

  • Ability to quickly and accurately respond to briefs.

  • Excellent written and communication skills with the ability to proof-read

  • A strong creative instinct and motivation to constantly develop new ideas and use progressive technologies.

  • Any post holder within the organisation will be expected to undertake safeguarding training appropriate to their role and adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures.


  • All staff must work in accordance with their statutory roles and responsibilities in relation to safeguarding in accordance with the Working Together to Safeguarding Children 2023, The Care Act 2014, and Prevent Duty 2015.

    Contract : We are pleased to be able to offer this post as a full time permanent position

    Salary : Hospice Band 5, Competency Based Framework, £29,640

    Working pattern : hours per week

    Based at : Hybrid. Based at Heald Green, some cross site and home working
