Factory Operative

Meridian Technical Services Ltd are a 20 year old company specialising in the periodic pressure testing and refilling of high-pressure cylinders for the fire suppression industry. They are a busy and friendly place to work with a mix of staff in the office, workshop and drivers. Part of a global group specialising in aviation safety, its an exciting time to join the growing company.

After full induction and training, duties will involve:

• Safe handling and moving of large cylinders between buildings and work stations


• Cleaning and preparation of cylinders including automated and manual sanding and paint spraying


• Overhaul of complex cylinder valves


• Refitting valves and refilling with specialist inert gasses


• Loading and unloading lorries/vans
  
  Although industry specific training and instruction will be given, Candidates are required to have experience in a hands-on workshop environment and be able to demonstrate using their own initiative.

Desired skills

• Counterbalance forklift training would be an advantage but full training will be given.


• Experience handling high-pressure gasses and cylinders will be a distinct advantage although this can be taught.


• Must have hands-on work experience using tools/machinery


• Driving licence preferred as unreliable public transport links can mean difficulties starting on-time.


• Good grasp of the English language is critical as you will be reading and following technical documents written in English.
