Full Job Description

An exciting and interesting position, complete with on the job supported training is available from our Bristol Office, covering construction projects in the South-West and Southern of England and South Wales. This estimating role shall consist of: -

  • Receive drawings from Main and Electrical Contractors and take off materials from pre-designed projects to provide a quotation for the installation of lightning protection systems.

  • Receive structural drawing to produce lightning protection systems and provide quotations to clients (complete training given).

  • Attend surveys of sites/buildings, attend tender and pre-start up meeting and confidently promote Omega`s service offerings.

  • Produce quality designs and estimates to clients specifications and needs.

  • Assist in the retention of existing customers and nurture client for additional business.

  • Promote the companies capabilities to new customers and new enquiries as they arise.

  • As a department achieve monthly targets on sales, attend tender meetings, attend construction sites and confidently persuade and promote Omega's service offering

  • Liaise with the production team to ensure delivery of projects and lead on a day to day basis to allow business objectives

  • Monitor market trends and be aware of competition

  • Record activity and update on our business system

    To be successful, the candidate will need to have the following skills, experience and qualifications:

  • Worked in the construction industry within a contracting business

  • Strong customer interface skills

  • Ability to understand and translate the needs of the client into a coherent bid

  • Possess drive and passion necessary to support growth to the business needs

  • Well organised with excellent time management skills

  • Experienced within the Lightning Protection industry, with a knowledge of British standard (BS EN62305) would be a distinct advantage.

  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills as required to secure opportunities

  • Able to build strong customer relationships, secure new business whilst maintaining existing.

  • Demonstrate contractual awareness

  • A full UK driving licence


  • Work is based predominantly in our Bristol office in Bradley Stoke, however extensive driving for meetings and site surveys will be required at an estimated ratio of Office 70% - Site 30% (varies)

    Experience:
  • Sales within the electrical Industry: 1 year (preferred)

  • 18th edition electrical accreditation: 1 year (preferred)

  • lightning protection (BSEN62305): 1 year (preferred)

  • working in construction industry: 1 year (preferred)
