Derivative Services Analyst 2

The primary responsibility for this candidate will be the reconciliation and settlement of all Exchange Traded derivative trades. The role requires liaison with a number of internal departments as well as external brokers, custodians and fund administrators.,

• Providing a full and dedicated post settlement operational support to all Fund Managers;


• Performing cash, position and trade reconciliations on a daily basis;


• Investigating and resolving breaks with our counterparties and custodians;


• Management of daily margin processes;


• Liaising with fund administrators, ensuring that they received the correct information and answering all adhoc queries;


• Maintaining a good working relationship with external brokers, monitoring broker performance, compiling management statistics and holding periodic review meetings;


• Prioritising the workload and working effectively towards deadlines;


• Establishing close working relationships with other operational areas, the Fund Managers Assistants, Dealers and all external parties, liaising on matters relating to day-to-day operations;


• Escalate unresolved discrepancies falling outside agreed services standards;


• Working with the team to improve existing processes, implement change, minimise and reduce operational risk


• Ensuring that procedures and controls are up dated in a timely manner, deadlines are met and that, when required, issues are escalated to management and


• Ensure internal controls are followed.


Skills and Behaviours Required

• Typical educational requirement: A levels or equivalent am


• Is fully conversant with all major aspects within a specific field of Financial Services Operations


The knowledge, experience and qualifications that will help

• Experience on the Aladdin system would be beneficial but not a requirement.

  Investment Services provide high quality, efficient and risk controlled support to the investment management and client delivery functions of Schroders. Our Investment Services are provided both to our internal clients within the investment and distribution divisions and directly to our external clients. The department in London consists of 58 investment support professionals organised into three departments; Derivative Services, Trading Support and Broker Management.


The Derivative Services Department forms part of the London Investment Services Division. Derivative Services is made up of Collateral, CFD, Exchange Traded, Trading Support and OTC bi-lateral / cleared.
