Full Job Description

The post-holder will be involved in the collation, processing, analysis, presentation & interpretation of, contract and financial costing information within the Commercial Analytics Team (consisting of Commissioning and Costing functions). Key to the role will be handling data from a variety of sources in varying formats, performing complex database queries and spreadsheet analyses to generate both routine & ad-hoc reports to support the business, capacity planning and information needs of the Trust.

Successful candidates at this assessment will proceed to remote interviews between 21st and 23rd May., Assist in the production and validation of routine and adhoc information (activity and cost information).
Conduct investigations into significant data anomalies and respond to queries from internal and external sources.
Assist in data analysis and modelling to support production of capacity plans, contract activity targets and activity costing.
Interrogate the data warehouse using SQL and interface with Excel, using pivot tables and functions for the purposes of analysis and report generation, presenting Trust data in appropriate formats as requested by the Advanced Commercial Analyst and other managers.
To support the Trust in the development and implementation of new data systems.
We strongly recommend that applicants evidence how you have met the skills requirement in the supporting information section of your application., 1. Work with the others Commercial Analysts in the production and validation of monthly Contract Monitoring (activity and cost information) to tight deadlines
2. Investigate significant contract variances and other queries from Commissioners or the CSU in line with SUS flex and freeze dates, down to individual patient detail
3. Production of routine information for submission to Healthcare Commissioners in line with Service Level Agreements (SLAs
4. Produce Non Contracted Activity (NCA) monitoring reports in line with monthly invoicing
5. Aid discussion with Commissioners regarding ad-hoc information requirements
6. Liaise with Clinical Commissioning Groups, NHSE and CSU representatives via communication pathways regarding information issues, offer advice and resolve any subsequent queries
7. Identify and action routine and ad-hoc information requirements from the Strategy department
8. Conduct the monitoring of Data Quality issues pertaining to Commissioning information, advising when lack of data or validation error is sufficient to prevent reporting pending their resolution
9. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of national information resources, definitions and policies for utilisation such as: NHS Data Definitions, Payment by Results system, Secondary Uses Service, ICD10, OPCS 4 and HRG Coding conventions and Reference Cost Guidance
10. To provide expert advice and support on complex analysis work, techniques, contract monitoring and related information issues to others in the Trust.
