An exciting opportunity for a passionate chef to join our expanding kitchen team working along side our current head chef to design menus and work with local suppliers to provide a great dining experience working in a well established and equipped modern kitchen. Job objectives and responsibilities:

- To deliver the preparation and service in an effective and friendly manner

- To maintain standards of food safety & cleanliness

- To contribute to the creation of the pubs menus both regular and specials

Main duties:

- To ensure all cooking equipment is kept clean, well maintained and is a safe working order, i.e. PAT tested, filters changed etc.

- Ensure safe food preparation at all times

- Ensure the correct storage & labelling of foods

- Taking temperatures of hot and cold foods to show due diligence and recording as needed

- Checking deliveries and assisting with stock taking

- Ensure routine cleaning is completed at the end of each service

- To have a full working knowledge of all cooking equipment

- To comply with the requirements of Health & Safety, other relevant legislation and premises policies.

- To sign in and out daily using the Signing-In Book, this must be an accurate record of the contracted hours and show the start time and finish time on a daily basis.

- To be aware of material expenditure and avoid unnecessary waste.

- To report any maintenance defects or damage to the Landlord.

- To ensure that a high standard of personal hygiene is maintained and to give particular attention to hands/finger nails, hair care and general appearance. Minimal jewellery to be worn for health and safety reasons (note - wedding ring and studs earrings are acceptable).

Must be able to complete a standard online disclosure check

Must be able to work the required shift pattern as discussed and detailed

A good understanding of food preparation methods

A love of food & a desire to learn more

Experience in a restaurant kitchen or similar environment

Have a flexible approach to the role.

Strong communication skills, good time keeper and a team player
