Full Job Description

This role is part time and permanant working 10 hours per week. That's 2 hours daily, Monday to Friday during term time only (38 weeks a year).

Post 2- T'yn Y Wern Primary School, Trethomas

This role is part time and permanant working 5 hours per week. That's 1 hour daily, Monday to Friday during term time only (38 weeks a year).

Post 3- St James Primary School, Caerphilly

This role is part time and permanant working 7 hours per week. That's 1.5 hours daily, Monday to Friday during term time only (38 weeks a year).

This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Catering Team.

Are you a team player who enjoys preparing and serving meals, loves working with children, is flexible and approachable?

This role will see the successful candidate working under the supervision of the Cook in Charge, ensuring the lunch time service operates effectively whilst complying with our policies and procedures to ensure that food safety regulations are adhered to. Great communication skills are a must as you will be liaising pupils, parents and school staff alike. Ideally you will also hold a Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Hygiene and Catering but don't worry if you don't, we can support you in achieving this alongside other appropriate courses relevant to the post.

For the role, we ask that you have:

Level 2 Food Safety or be willing to undertake and achieve the qualification within 3 months in the role.
A general understanding of the role in order to meet the needs of this vital service.
An ability to work at various sites throughout the borough when required, to meet the needs of the service.
If you do not hold a Level 2 Award in Food Safety and Hygiene in catering, we hope you will be prepared to receive food safety awareness training and other appropriate courses relevant to the post.
