Business Administration Assistant - Shambles Market - Full Time - Wednesday to Sunday

We are looking for a confident, dynamic individual to join the Shambles Market Team at Make It York.

We keep the city centre relevant and enticing for residents and visitors, we provide a vibrant market all year round, opening seven days a week. Further to this we assist with the delivery of city centre events, speciality markets and activities. Under the brand Visit York, Make It York's aim is to promote the city and its surrounds as a must-see world-class destination to the leisure visitor and ensure investment to develop the quality of tourism in York.

Make It York are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate, and hard-working member of staff to join their Business Support Team on a full-time basis, working Wednesday to Sunday each week. You will have excellent customer service, communication, and administration support skills, be comfortable working with IT/CRM systems, and have a reactive and positive attitude, being able to deal independently with routine enquiries and complaints.

Main Duties will include:

  • Allocating stalls and taking trader payments.

  • Liaising with traders to ensure that rules and regulations are adhered too.

  • Updating the Markets CRM system to ensure that all records are accurate and up to date

  • Assisting with the management of City Centre and event functions, such as dealing with enquiries to use space, obtaining relevant follow information, undertaking, and recording site checks and assisting with the management of the Busking Policy.

  • Providing general administration support to both the Market Service and the City Centre Events team.

    This is a full-time role working Wednesday to Sunday every week (including bank holidays), start and finish times are variable, and on a rota basis, there is the occasional requirement for evening working.
