Full Job Description

School Admissions and Pupil Services have an exciting opportunity for the right individual to become a School Appeals Officer to support and deliver School Appeals. You will prepare school appeal paperwork, liaise and advise schools, check school admission policies for compliance and present appeals. Although not necessary, previous experience of school appeals (or similar tribunal work) would be an advantage or if you have at least two year's work experience at school management level. You will be self-motivated, working in a small appeals team who work closely with schools and other agencies. Full training and support is available for the right individual to grow into the role's.

  • General understanding of the school admissions processes, school structures and class organisations

  • Ability to research and gather complex information

  • Have excellent written skills to prepare factual statements and ability to interpret and explain complex information

  • Have strong and confident presentation skills when delivering information in front of audience of professionals and parents

  • Must be familiar with the Data Protection Act when handling sensitive and confidential information

  • To remain confident and resilient under scrutiny and challenge

  • To be a proactive team member, by having the ability to support colleagues, to be prepared to learn on the job and where necessary to support seniors
